24 “Our Redemption Allows Us To Have Dominion”

"Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves,

but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent

as ministers of a new covenant-not of the latter but of the Spirit;

for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life!”

In order for us to be effective in our prayers, we must understand and believe the work of Christ on the cross. It is through our redemption that we have right standing with God. It’s as though we had never fallen from grace, not by our merits; rather, that of Jesus Christ, “For He (God) made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”( 2 Corinthians 5:21) Jesus has made us righteous through His blood.

According to Genesis we have been given the power or right of governing and controlling; the sovereign authority to rule this earth. We have delegated right of control and domination of earth’s territory, rulership of the land and domain of earth; it’s subject to our sovereignty and control. This is the reason man is always trying to assume rulership and dominate supremacy over other kingdoms. However, this right of dominion was never intended to be over mankind, “And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the heavens, and over cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth” (Genesis 1:26) It because they don’t understand God’s delegated authority of the earth; therefore, they allow their own human lust for power and control cause them to oppress their follow man. This authority is being abused because that authority is not being used for the purpose it was intended for.

We do however have dominion or authority over our old sinful nature, “if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone and behold all thing are made new”.( 2 Corinthians 5:21) We have dominion over Satan and his kingdom of darkness, “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves.” We have dominion and authority through Christ, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. I am going to the father, and I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”(John 14:12-14) We have dominion over sin, “sin shall not be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”(2 Corinthians 5:17)Because, Jesus in sinless, we too, are free from sin.”Where sin increased, grace also increased even more, so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:20-21) So many people discount themselves because they feel unworthy to come before a Holy God, but Jesus paid our penalty He took on our guilt and shame, thus giving us right standing with God. So when God sees us He sees us through the blood of Jesus, He sees us righteous.” When we pray we can ask anything in Jesus’ name, just as it says in John 14:12-14 “He will do it.”Amen!

The authority given to us through Jesus name gives us complete access to Father God. We have a legal right to approach His throne with boldness and confidence because Christ has restored our relationship with the Father. This vital component of pray ensues that when we agree with the father’s will and purpose, we can partition Him to fulfill His Word to meet any need we have, or on behalf of others.

My Prayer: Father, thank you for the privilege to come before your throne this morning, thank you for the price that was paid for our sins through Jesus Christ. Father as we learn to embrace our freedom and righteousness in Christ Jesus, teach us to fully understand our delegated authority and dominion in this earth. Because we are free from Satan’s power and control, we do not have to walk in darkness or sin any longer. We realize that we now have power to resist sins power; allowing, us to walk in newness of life through Christ. We will not abuse our God given authority to try and dominate, control or manipulate our fellow man. We understand that this power and authority was given that we might rule the earth and its creatures. Help us to resume our responsibility of taking care of this earth and its creatures. Father we understand that we come into alignment with your word so too with this earth come into alignment. Just as your word says, “The whole creation is on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own. The world of creation cannot as yet see reality, not because it chooses to be blind, but because in God’s purpose it has been so limited—yet it has been given hope. And the hope is that in the end the whole of created life will be rescued from the tyranny of change and decay, and have its share in that magnificent liberty which can only belong to the children of God! So Father Manifest Your sons and manifest your glory in the earth, in Jesus name Amen!!
