#33 “Step 2: Give Him Adoration”

“Lord, Your power is great, and your glory is seen everywhere in heaven
and on earth. You are king of the entire world, and you rule with
strength and power. You make people rich and powerful and famous.
We thank you, our God, and praise you. But why should we be
happy that we have given you these gifts? They belong to you,
and we have only given back what is already yours.”
1 Chronicles 29:11-14
Contemporary English Version (CEV)

We have all heard the word “adoration” but what does it really mean? The Merriam-Webster dictionary says, “The act of worship a profound love or regard for someone or something. Adoration is a deep love or esteem, worship: a feeling of profound love and admiration. When we enter into a time of pray we move for a position of being “Silent” before the Lord to “Adoring” Him. This is when you tell Him how much He means to you and how precious He is to you. What has the Lord done in your life that would make you want to love and adore Him? Most of could say that He “saved us” and in fact He did just that.

Many times people have trouble when just starting to pray, finding the words to say about the Lord, I always start with the Psalms because most of them are songs created especially for worshiping, praying or adoring God. Let’s take a look at one that I feel will work perfectly for this section of your devotion.

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
For the Lord is the great god, the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him.
The sea is His, for He made it. And His hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.”
(Psalms 95:1-7)

This is an amazing song of adoration and praise to the Lord. The psalmist admonishes us to come and bow down before the Lord in worship. Why? Because of who He is, He is the God of all creation, King of Heaven and earth. He’s God our savior and redeemer. Once you start just acknowledging who God is, before you know it you are lost in worship and adoration. Perhaps the problem is that many just don’t know who God truly is; therefore they don’t know what to say about Him. Let’s take a look at who He should be to us as children of the Most High God.

1. He’s all Powerful God
2. He’s a Great God
3. He’s a Wonderful Counselor
4. He’s Awesome God
5. He’s Omnipotent
6. He’s Glorious
7. He’s Marvelous
8. He’s Matchless in all His ways

This should be enough to get you started, in fact, take some time and look up these attributes of God and learn more about Him. Once we understand and acknowledge that He is God above everything, situation, circumstance and everyone in our lives, it will be much easier for us to worship and adore Him. Do you not know that everything in heaven and on earth receives it meaning and purpose for God alone. No one is wiser than our God no one is more powerful than our God and is eternal and forever the Great God. When we realize that we are helpless without the help of God, then we can freely and clearly worship and adore Him for hew He is.

My Prayer: Father God we thank you for being such a wonderful and faithful God. Your faithfulness is never ending, Praise, honor and Glory belongs to You. Lord God, You’re our Heavenly Father, from everlasting to everlasting. You Lord, are the greatness and the power, the glory, the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom, You’re exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from You Lord God, You are the ruler of all things; Father, in Your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give You thanks, and praise Your glorious name forever. Amen!

Have A Bless Day…Go in God’s Peace!
