#64 “Understanding the Power of the God’s Word”
(The Word is ZOE - Pt.2)

It is the spirit that quickened; the flesh profited nothing:
the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
[John 6:63-70]
King James Version (KJV)

Did you know that the word of God is alive?  It is, but most of us don’t even think about the fact that it is; however that shouldn’t surprise you because this is the same way we often view God’s word anyway.  After all His words says we are healed but we don’t believe it. His word says we are more than conquers, but we don’t believe it. His word says we are heirs of God joints heirs with Christ…do we really believe it? Sometimes I wonder! So let’s take a look at the word “ZOE”, what does that mean? The Strong's Lexicon: Greek Origin says it means:

Ø  Life - the state of one who is possessed of vitality or is animate; every living soul.

Ø  Life - of the absolute fullness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through Him

Ø  Life - real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ, and to last forever.

This lesson we will talk about the “ZOE (Life) OF GOD’S WORD”, not just words but it’s the living, acting, moving creating word of God. Let’s take a look at Hebrews 4:11-13 “For the Word that God speaks is alive and active; it cuts more keenly than any two-edged sword: it strikes through to the place where soul and spirit meet, to the innermost intimacies of a man’s being: it exposes the very thoughts and motives of a man’s heart. No creature has any cover from the sight of God; everything lies naked and exposed before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”  J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS) I like the way Phillips phrases this thought by saying, “the word that God Speaks is alive” and it is!  From Genesis where it was “Creating” to Revelations where it is “Fulfilling” the Word of God is always active and producing.

From the moment God said, “Let there be” the word has not stopped being, what every God has told it to be. In the book of John1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. In Him was LIFE and the Life was the light of men, how powerful this statement is because the word of God was then and still is today the Light of men. It’s important to understand that when we pray the word of God we are not just quoting empty words but words that have power and life attached to them.  It is because of this that we are confident that when we speak the word of God it will not return to Him void, but it will accomplish what it was sent to do.

The word of God is the life source of our prayers, because it gives power and authority to the words we speak. Therefore we do not have to worry whether or not it will do what it’s supposed to do. This is why it is critical that we speak the word when we pray.  “Then said the Lord to me, you have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it!” (Jeremiah 1:12) what I love about the word of God is it work for everyone, which speaks it in faith, “If you live in Me abide vitally united to Me and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.” When we stay connected to the life source then we too will produce life just as Christ does. In Christ we have been given life giving authority and power,  in the name of Jesus Christ.

My Prayer: “Father God, thank You for the Word! We know that Your word “is alive and active; it cuts more keenly than any two-edged sword: it strikes through to the place where soul and spirit meet, to the innermost intimacies of a man’s being: it exposes the very thoughts and motives of a man’s heart. No creature has any cover from the sight of God; everything lies naked and exposed before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” As we stand confident that you will perform your word the decree and declare that we have what so every we say in Jesus name.  We decree and declare that we are healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ! According to Isaiah 53:4But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” We decree and declare that No plague (sickness) will come near our dwellings, according to  Psalm 91:10 There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling”.  We stand on your word for and thank you for soundness of mind, body and spirit in Jesus name we pray Amen!”

Have A Bless Day…Go in God’s Peace!
