#75 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(Key to Unlock Heaven ‘Jesus’ Name’

The Father loves the Son and has put everything into his hand.
The man who believes in the Son has eternal life.
The man who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life;
he lives under the anger of Go!
[John 3:35-36]
J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)

In John 3:35-36 the Lord said, “The Father loves the Son,” why is this important? Because, the Father loves His Son this means He will do whatever the Son ask of Him. This is huge since the Son represents us; therefore, there’s no reason for us to worry, whether or not the Father will answer our petitions. Do you see why it’s important to evoke Jesus’ “power of attorney” when we pray?  We should not every try to transact business with the Father without coming in Jesus’ name because it is the Key of access to heaven. As good as it may sound to do some name dropping when you come before the Father, of the important people you know, like your Pastor or a well know prophet. After all why would you want to use anyone’s name besides Jesus’ name which is the one given for us to use?

Have you ever noticed how when any of the apostles dealt with a situation they never use any other person’s name?  When Peter pray for the man by the gate call beautiful he did not say be healed in the name of Paul, John the Baptist, Lazarus who was raised from the dead or even Phillip who was stoned to death for the gospel sake. Peter knew that none of these names would get the results he was seeking.  He wanted that man healed and since, “Jesus was wounded for our transgression and bruised for our iniquity,” why would he use anyone else’s name? Peter knew that nothing not silver, not gold but only the name of Jesus would get heaven’s attention. We should see the Father doing just what we’re asking, if it is healing the see them healed; if it is financial breakthrough see the debt free.

The name of Jesus is the only name heaven will recognize when we come in prayer before the Father. Why, “For there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:13) when it come to heaven Jesus is the only person who can speak for us before the Father, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (Timothy 2:5) this is what Phillip 2:9-10 says, “therefore God exalted Jesus to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” There is no name in heaven or earth that is greater than the name of Jesus, so all other names have to bow, Pharaoh, cancer, drug additions, pornography, adultery or even Satan.

Jesus told His disciples to that all power in heaven and earth had been given to Him; then he commissioned them to go tell everybody. “Then Jesus came to His disciples and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”  When we understand this fact we will have no need to fear or doubt when we go out to preach the gospel. The apostle Paul understand this and went out and “preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.” (Acts 9:27)  So can we when we believe the word!!!

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us this keys to heaven, which is the name of Jesus and the authority and power that comes with it. We know that every knee will eventually have to bow to the name of Jesus and every tongue will have to confess that He is Lord. So too we declare that He is Lord of all!!! Amen, Amen!!!

#74 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(Delegated Power of Attorney)

This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is
in keeping with the things I’ve revealed to you. Ask in my name,
according to my will, and He’ll most certainly give it to you.
Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!
[Romans 10:12-13]
English Standard Version (ESV)

In this lesson we will discuss what it means to be given “Durable Power of Attorney” and how that translates when using the Name of Jesus.  So just what is Power of Attorney (POA)? There are a few different kinds of POA’s however the one we want to address is the “Durable Power of Attorney” (DPA) based on its definition -  A DPA is a allows an assigned person handle your legal and monetary affairs; should you reach the point when you cannot do them yourself. A DPA does not give the acting attorney legal access to use you funds for their own personnel use. Your attorney is acting in your behalf taking care of thing you yourself would in present.

In a previous lesion we discussed what it meant to be in covenant with Jesus. Our relationship with Christ Jesus gives covenant rights under the terms of the covenant. For instance Romans 8:17 says, “Now if we are children, we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with the Messiah —if, in fact, we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Therefore we have been given “Power and Authority by Jesus according to Luke 10:19 - It is true that I have given you the power to tread on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the enemy’s power; no one can put a hand on you. All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God’s authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God but what God does for you—that’s the agenda for rejoicing.” This is what Jesus said; “Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” than he turned around and gave us legally, delegated Power of Attorney here on earth; to act in His behalf while He’s away. "This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is in keeping with the things I’ve revealed to you. Ask in my name, according to my will, and he’ll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!. (John 16:23-24)

Why do you think Jesus made this statement? Up to this point the disciples never had a need to pray to Father God, because Jesus was here on earth meeting their needs.

v  When they need food to eat and feed the multitude Jesus feed them.
v  When they had need of a place to have the last supper Jesus had already made provision.
v  When they needed a donkey for Jesus to ride, Jesus instructed them where to go find one.
v  When Peter’s mother-in-law was sick with fever Jesus healed her.
v  When they needed money to pay taxes, Jesus even supplied that for them.

But now he was going away and they would no longer have the benefit of His presence here on earth; therefore they would have to ask the Father for what they needed. This is when the DPA starts to work, when there is a need we simply go to the Father and say, “Father God we need healing we simply ask God to heal us in Jesus name!” If someone needs to be delivered we simply ask, “Father in Jesus name set them free; because Jesus came to set at liberty those who are bound.” Now Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us, “therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He is always lives to intercede for them.”  When we pray to the Father and Jesus answers this glorifies the Father: “I tell you the truth anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” He will make sure that it happens. Kind of like when Jim Kirk of the starship enterprise said what are the coordinates, Mr. Sulu and they gave him their coordinates, he would say, Make it so!” in other words do it! When we ask the Father in Jesus’ name God says what did they say? The Jesus tells Him and God say’s, “Make it So!”

Let us not forget that the Holy Spirit is here helping us pray so don’t be afraid of praying the wrong thing.  In fact if there is something we should not pray to the Father the Holy Spirit will alert us not to pray. It may come as a sense of uneasiness about praying for a certain thing. When this happens do not, I repeat “DO NOT” pray anyway for you will be wasting your time and energy not to mention you could get God angry with you for disobeying. “We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” (John 14:12-14) Keep in mind that everything has it’s season and if something is coming prematurely it is out of its season and out of the will of the Father. Therefore we cannot pray to God and expect Him to answer our prayers; because it is not according to His purpose and will for our lives.

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, what an amazing privilege and honor You have given us as heirs of God, serving as Your representation here on earth. How marvelous to, knowing that Jesus has given us power and authority to handle things here in the earth realm. Continue to teach us how to walk in this delegated authority (DPA) and power and not take it for granted or miss use it in anyway. Father thank You for revelation knowledge, wisdom and discernment to know how to operate correctly in alignment with Your word and according to Your will and purpose, in Jesus name we pray,  Amen!!!

Have A Bless Day…Go in God’s Peace!

#73 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(What about Jesus’ Name?) Pt.2

There is no difference between Jews and Greeks.
They all have the same Lord, who gives His riches to everyone who calls on him,
So then, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
[Romans 10:12-13]
English Standard Version (ESV)

Jesus said, “I AM” – “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)  Whenever we hear Jesus stating, “I AM” we know that He was speaking from His divinity not humanity speaking as the Son of God not the Son of Man.  Remember what God told Moses, to tell the children of Israel; “Tell them that I AM has sent you.” He was declaring that He God was everything the children of Israel would ever need both now and forever.  Because the Father and Son are one all who are in the Son are one with the Father. We too can day, because of the work of Christ on the cross; that “I am buried with Christ,” (Romans 6:4 “I am hidden in Christ,” (Colossians 3:3) and “I am resurrected with Christ,” (Romans 6:3-7) for as He is so are we!

Knowing this is what gives us assurance that when we pray in Jesus’ name we will have what we pray for. Just as we pray according to the attributes of God when we need His healing (Jehovah Rapha) or provision (Jehovah Jireh); likewise we must pray the same way when praying in Jesus’ name.  We must know that Jesus is the resurrection and life, that He is the bread of life, and the prince of peace. What did Jesus say to Martha, regarding her brother Lazarus? Jesus told her that, “I AM the resurrection and the Life.” (John 11:25) this was Jesus response when faced with the death of His friend Lazarus. This was the perfect time in face you could almost say that Jesus planned it just to teach them who He truly was.

As a point of interest I would like to make note of something here regarding the many names of God and Jesus. I thank God for being able to teach lessons such as this one. Mainly because many people may not know the many names of God and Jesus and therefore they may only know them as God the Father or Jesus Christ the Savior.  They may only know Jesus as healer because He healed them or as prince of peace because during a storm in their life He calmed the storm.  Now they have the knowledge that Jesus just like the Father is the “I AM” He is whatever you need Him to be. I encourage you to learn the other names of Jesus and the Father and start using them. Here are a few of God’s names that are good to use during your morning devotions, which come for a prayer teaching by Dr. Larry Lea.

JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU
JEHOVAH-KADDESH

JEHOVAH-ROHI
"Jehovah my banner"
"Jehovah my shepherd"
“So then, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” The next time you’re asked to pray for someone’s salvation then you will know that all you need to do as pray, “Jesus, Savior I pray now for this person that you, as Savior will save them. How easy was that? It makes all the difference in the world and now you understand that you are in covenant with Jesus and because of the covenant agreement you have with Him; He will hear and answer. The beauty of know that Jesus has numerous attributes/names is that there is nothing you will encounter in your life that He can not meet the need.

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you that as our Father we know that you will provide and care for us. We thank you for being God our Jehovah Jireh, our provider therefore we can rest in You because You will provide for our ever need.  As we rest in this assurance we know that we will become more confident that Your’re the “Great I AM” the all sufficient one. Thank you for strengthening our faith and trust in Your word and Your promise to keep and perform Your word.  Thank You for your many blessings in the power and authority of Jesus name pray, Amen!!!

#72 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(What about Jesus’ Name?) Pt.1

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is,
God with us
[Exodus 3:13-14]
English Standard Version (ESV)

In our last lesson we learned the importance of the name you were given and how it is connected to your destiny and purpose. We even covered some of the meanings of God’s Names, and why we should never take His or anyone else name in vain. Now let’s take a look at The Name of Jesus, which is where we were headed in the first place.  You will recall that we discussed that our name are the collective representation of our characteristics and attributes as a person. Just like The Father, His Son has numerous names which, who Jesus is.

The very first name He was called was the; “Seed” (Gen. 3:15 – “I will put And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” In Zach 6:12 calls Him “the Branch”We have a man here whose name is Branch. He will branch out from where he is and build the Temple of God. Yes, he’s the one. He’ll build the Temple of God. Then he’ll assume the role of royalty, take his place on the throne and rule—a priest sitting on the throne!—showing that king and priest can coexist in harmony.” This name one that I find interesting because Jesus has now made us the branches, “I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.” When we become one with Jesus we become as He is.

Most of us are familiar with the name, “EmmanuelGod with us” because it is so prevalent during the Christmas Season. “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:22  You did notice  of course that Mary and Joseph did not choose the name for “Jesus” God did; this is what the angel Gabriel was telling Mary, “God wants you to name this child ‘Emmanuel’ because He will be God on earth with man.”  It was important that God gave Jesus’ name because first He was His Father and second because this would ensure that His name would speak to who He was and what He would be…“Savior of the world.” This was his mission and purpose while here on earth, “He will save His people from their sins,” Do you realize that just like Jesus you and I have been given a name which speaks what we will do in this earth? Call her name “Mardina” for she will “Teach my people, Keep the sacred Word of God while helping the lost

Let’s look at some more of Jesus Names:
v  Bread of Life – “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
v  Water of Life – “Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37)
v  The Way the Truth and The Life – “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

That’s all for tonight but tomorrow we will go further into the meaning of the Name of Jesus, please make sure to continue reading.

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, oh what a blessing to know that we are called by name, that we are Your spoken word.  Father we decree that we will not return unto you void or empty of our assigned purpose. We too just like Jesus want to be able to say, “Father I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.” John 17:1-5 we want to finish our work here on earth, and bring glory to Your Name. Thank You for giving us a destiny and purpose now fulfill it in us, We pray these things in the power and authority of Jesus name. Amen!!!

#71 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(Called By Name) Pt.3

“Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them,
‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me,
“What is His name?” Then what shall I tell them?” “I AM WHO I AM.
This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.”
[Exodus 3:13-14]
English Standard Version (ESV)

What’s in your name? Have you had the time to research your name? Were you surprise to learn the meaning of your name? In this lesson we will discuss “Why God places such importance on names.”  When you think about who God is, everything that He is can be spoken by His name. You may say, “But God has so many names, how can that all be summed up in one name?” This is why God told Moses to tell the children of Israel that “I AM” sent him.” Because He was saying, “I AM THAT I AM!”  When we think of God we may call His name based on what He has done for us, like:

v  Jehovah Jireh “God’s provisions will be seen,” so He is my provider! How about,
v  Jehovah Rapha “The Lord our healer” because He is my healer
v  Jehovah Shalom “The Lord is peace” because He is my peace

So which one of God’s names says who He is? All of them; because that all say what He is and He does what He is. Have you read the verse that says, “You shall not take the Lord’s You God’s name in vain?” Exodus 20:7) Because God’s name is who He is and what He is, “I AM THAT I AM!” He is all sufficient and whatever He is at the moment you need Him that’s what He is. Whatever you need this moment, Provider, healer, deliverer, peace in the midst of a storm or bread when you are hungry that’s what God is.  Once you acknowledge that God is provider of what you’re in need of He becomes what you need.

God told Moses in Exodus 3:15 - “God also said to Moses, “say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacobhas sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” So what happens when we use the Lords name in vain? We in essence are taking His name out of context, when we use His name as a curse word then you are saying that He is a curse, which He is not. You are lying on God!!! Why, because that’s not His nature, so to say that He is a curse when in fact He is not is a lie.

Likewise we to are made in the likeness and image of God, and when He gave us our names through our parents, He declared who we were to be.  Mardina” is to be a teacher, keeper of things sacred and a helpful spirit.” So for my mother or father to have called me anything else would have been taking my name in vain. Because I am what my name says I am even if I don’t know it. But what if my mother was just trying to be clever and come up with some strange and unique name for me? Doesn’t matter God knows what your name is suppose to be; even if He has to get her to come up with some derivative that means the same thing in another language He will do it without her knowing it. “Even before “I” formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you,” God already knew you, knew your name and who you were to be. You my friend are the spoken word of God and just like all of His words, you must not return to Him void or empty; you must accomplish what He has sent you to do!

From the moment you are born the enemy sets out to try and pervert your destiny, by any means necessary. So many people are on the wrong path because of the attack of Satan against their destiny. Just keep in mind that God is always calling you back to your place of destiny, even if you have never given your life to Him before.  He knows the plans that He has for you and He is always working to bring you back to Himself; in order that His plans for your future can be fulfilled. This is why he sent Jesus to redeem mankind’s souls, to buy us back for himself. We are His workmanship created in – “The fact is that what we are we owe to the hand of God upon us. We are born afresh in Christ, and born to do those good deeds which God planned for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 Why does God do this, look at Isaiah 29:23 “When they see among them their children, the work of my hands, they will keep my name holy; they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel. Because it is only by your fulfilling your God given destiny that the whole earth will acknowledge who God is because you will walk in His purpose and declare His name in the earth.

This is why your name is so important because God has called you by name. this is why when we use the Name of Jesus in prayer that it has such power and authority because He is what He does, savior, redeemer and prince of peace, just like His Father, He is what He does, that’s who Jesus is. This is why there is power in the name of Jesus; because, He declared “all power in heaven and earth is given into Me!

And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.” John 17:1-5 we want to finish our work here on earth, and bring glory to Your Name. Thank You for giving us a destiny and purpose now fulfill it in us, We pray these things in the power and authority of Jesus name. Amen!!!

#70 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(Called By Name) Pt.2

“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you,
O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.”
[Isaiah 43:1-2]
English Standard Version (ESV)

In our last lesson we taught on being called by name and the importance of knowing what the meaning of your name is. For often therein lies the key to your purpose and destiny. As you may recall Eve was so named because she was going to be the mother of all mankind because it means “Life-Giver”, but she was also to be Adam’s wife as well.

Let’s take a look at some other name meanings say for instance;

v  Abram – which was Abraham’s name prior to God changing it; Abram name meant “exalted father” or “high father”. However “Abraham means “father of a multitude,” so why do you think God changed his name?  It was because God had given him a promise saying, “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.” (Gen 18:18)  Do you see how his name spoke of his destiny and purpose?

v  Jacob’s names meaning wasn’t very good at first because it meant, “supplanter,” “trickster or deceiver”  but God changed his name to “Israel,” which means “He will rule as God” or “prince of God.” Israel’s name declared that he would be a ruling nation and God’s representatives in this earth, “The whole Earth is mine to choose from, but you’re special: a kingdom of priests, a holy nation.”(Exodus 19:6)

v  Simon (Peter) who many of us know because he was such a fighter, his name meant, “hearing,” but after he declared to Jesus, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God! Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, (rock) and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it.(Matthew 16:16-18)

Can you see how in every instance the name spoke the destiny of each of these people? God places great significance on our names, because we are made in the image of God, and just like God our names speak of who God has made us to be. “Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called me from the womb; from the body of my mother he named my name. (Isaiah 49:1-26)  Do you know what that means? Each time someone calls your name they are declaring your purpose and destiny. Although I did not know it at the time, there was a reason I would get upset when people would mispronounce my name. It was because they changed the meaning of who I was, God called me Mardina –“Teacher a keeper of things sacred a helpful spirit.

Isn't that’s just like Satan trying to pervert our destinies. He takes us away from the things that will define us and start to put labels on us, bad girl, Whore, drug addict, alcoholic, thief and liar. These labels are intended to make us think that’s who we truly are. Just as god changed the names of some of the patriots in the bible, he will change our names back to reflect his call on our lives. After a while we begin to believe that we are what Satan and the world has labeled us, but we aren’t. God declared who we were before we were even formed in our mother’s wombs and nothing can change it but Him!!!!

I recall when I was preparing to leave the first time to the mission field, which was also during the time I was taking the “Purity with Purpose” course. One morning during my morning devotion, the Lord spoke to me these words, “And thou shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. Though shall no more be termedForsaken;”neither shall your land any more be termed desolate But you shall be called Hephzibah [My delight is in her], and your land Beulah; [owned and protected by the Lord].For the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a virgin so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” (Isaiah 62:4-5)

Now this scripture came at a critical time when I was preparing to leave the country and go minister to people in a foreign country. But what’s more important was that I was divorced and was feeling that God had made a mistake by choosing me. I felt abandon, rejected and forsaken and was not dealing with the prospect of facing people who may not understand who I was.  This is the amazing thing about serving our God, He already know that I was feeling disqualified for this assignment.  But in His infant wisdom He changed my name! Society had already brand and labeled me as “D” divorced. Now every time I filled out an application I had to answer the question: What is your marital status? Married, divorced or single, I felt ashamed every time I had to answer that question. But God changed my name and called me HephzibahMy delight is in her” Beulah “owned and protected by the Lord.” Now how do you think that made me feel?

This is why there is such a need for the people of God to know the meaning of their names; then they can begin to walkout their God given destinies as God intended.

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You calling us by name.  Thank You choosing us from among the multitudes of people in this world to be called Your own.  Just as you called Abraham, Israel and Peter not by their names according to their birth; You called them by their names according to your promise to them.  Heavenly Father, we thank you for calling us by our names, which are according to Your Promise to us. As we learn what your plans and purpose for our lives teach us how to walk in them. We pray these things in Jesus name. Amen!!!

#69 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(Called By Name) Pt.1

Before I formed you in the womb I knew and approved of you as
My chosen instrument, and before you were born I separated
and set you apart, consecrating you; and I appointed you as
a prophet to the nations.”
[Jeremiah 1:4-7]
Amplified Bible (AMP)

What does your name mean? If you don’t know take the time to research the meaning of your name. Why? This is what the Lord God told Jeremiah the prophet, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” What does it mean to be called by name by God? If you are like most children we often come to a point in life when we wonder what our parents were thinking about then they named us.  I know that for many years I did not like my name, because so many people could not pronounce it and would call me everything except my name.  However for me there was a safety net provided me by me family, they all called me “Dee-Dee” with this it would take a fairly unique person to get that wrong. So for many years I went by this nick name until a boyfriend gave me a new one, “Mardi” this to me sounded even better so “Mardi” was and even to this day I still use it on occasion.

Then the Lord called me to the mission field and told me he need me to take a “Purity with Purpose” class before leaving. You know something I’ve stopped asking God “why?” because I know that He has a plan even when I can’t see it. During this class they taught a session initialed, “CALLED BY NAME” for the life of me I couldn’t began to guess what that was all about. It was then that I did a research of my name and found out the meaning of my name.

Once I found the true meaning of my name then it became clear why I was always teaching others what I had learned. Why I was the only one of my siblings that was always helping my mother around the house. Not to mention why God called me at the age of twelve from among me brothers and sisters, because He know that I would treasure His word and share it with others. I believe this is why the Bible places such emphases on what a person’s name means. The meaning of your name often represents the personification of who you are as a person. It represents the combined attributes and distinctiveness and nature, influence and splendor of the person or thing.

I find it interesting that God gave Adam the privilege of naming all the animals in the garden he even allowed him to name “Eve.” Dr. Miles Monroe says in his Book, “Understanding the Purpose and Power of Prayer” that Adam when naming Eve actually named her twice. In doing so he gave her a name which encapsulated her true attributes. To begin with he named her based on her origin, then he named her based on her purpose. Did I lose you? “Here’s how he said it, “this is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called “woman,”for she was taken out of man.” (Gen 2:20) this verse speaks to her originations. Then in Gen 3:30 he said, “The man called his wife’s name Eve [life spring], because she was the mother of all the living.” Can you see how Eve’s name defined who she was and what she was going to accomplish in the earth? Eve’s name (chavvah) in Hebrew means “Life-Giver” which was the essences of who she was the mother of all humanity.  In the next lesson we will look at some other examples of people who’s describe the essence of who they were and what their purpose was in the earth.

If you get a chance do a name search of your name, you first name and middle name for now, If you don’t already know it. I want you to see how your name has all your life been speaking your purpose without you knowing it.  Sometime it’s a good Idea to search under several origins not just English check Latin, Greek Asian and anything else you can find; just to see it your name is listed.  Once you have the meaning of your name we will look back over your life and see if you’ve been living out your purpose.

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for who we are and for being called out by name. although it may not make sense to us now we know that You have a plan and purpose for each of our lives just as You had a plan and purpose for Jesus Christ to be the “Savior of the World” and for John the Baptist to be the forerunner to proclaim His arrival. You even knew that Judas Iscariot’s purpose was to betray Him. So to you have an express purpose for each of our lives too. Help us to know your plans and purpose for our lives and walk in them as You have intended. We pray these things in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Have A Bless Day…Go in God’s Peace!

#68 “Understanding the Power in the Name of Jesus”
(We Have a Covenant Right to Use the Name of Jesus)

In that day you will no longer ask me anything.
I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask
in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.
ask and you will receive, and you joy will be complete.
[John 16:23-24]
Amplified Bible (AMP)

This may come as a surprise to you, but do you know that God owes none of us a thing?  Oh I know we think that because He is God He is obligated to take care of us, but He is not. The truth of the matter is this when He created the heavens and the earth He provided us with everything we would ever need. But then there came the fall due to disobedience, and then God devised a plan to bring us back into right standing with Him and pay the penalty for our sins. (Genesis 3:15) “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel.” This is why we have no legal rights what so ever when we are not in a covenant relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You can’t come to Him in prayer and say “In Jesus Name” if you have not been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.  Because this is what gives us the legal right to approach God and stand before Him in righteousness because, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Christ cancelled our debt through His death on the cross, paying the ransom for our sins and giving us back our legal right to be called the children of God. “But as many as received Him to them He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to those that believed on His name.” (John 1:12) Through this redemptive act Christ not only won us back but He also won back our right to have dominion upon this earth. Through Him we now have our legal right to rule this earth and walk in our God given authority over this earth. Therefore the relationship we can now have with the Father is a Covenant relationship which gives us “Covenantal Authority” through Christ. “but the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs, “the priests of Israel” as the covenant of which He is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is funded on a better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6)

Now we no longer need a natural priest to communicate with God, because Jesus is our “Great High Priest” forever. Jesus has given us authority and access directly to the throne of grace which is based on a new covenant sealed by His blood.  Jesus while speaking with His disciples said at least seven times that as we follow Him we are giving legal rights to use The Name of Jesus when speaking with God. “In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask  in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. ask and you will receive, and you joy will be complete. Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father Himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. (John 16:23-27)

This is why when we pray in Jesus name there is strength and power in our prayers. Why? Because when we pray we pray based on the authority of our relationship of our covenantal relationship with Him and the Father. Christ is Lord over a new covenant based on the redemptive work of the cross.  The name of Jesus gives us a legal right and authoritythat is valid no matter what we’re dealing with, be it “heavenly” things God or ruling powers in the heavenliest or dealing with “earthly” things such as natural man, but goes beyond even the “underneath the earth” such as dealing with kingdom of darkness (Satan).

The name of Jesus is your legal authority to conduct spiritual business with the Father, “for there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all menthe testimony given in its proper time.” (I Timothy 2: 5-6)

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to better understand what it means to be in a covenant relationship with you and your son Jesus Christ. We thank you for your love towards us and for Your many blessings even though You are not obligated to us but for the work of Christ Jesus on Calvary’s cross.  Through His shed blood we now have right standing with You and free access to Your throne of grace. Teach us the ways of Your status that we might walk in them all the days of our lives. We ask You for understanding and wisdom as to how to keep Your laws that we might observe them with our whole hearts. We pray these things in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Greeting Morning by Morning Family!

First allow me to thank you for your faithfully following the Morning by Morning Blog; it has been a joy teaching and praying with you these past four months.  My joy is made full when I hear your comments personally regarding the post.
I just wanted to take a moment to update you on some changes which you may have noticed in the past few weeks. I recently decided to only post Morning by Morning blog posts Monday Friday  effective immediately as my schedules has changed and this will allow me to devote some much needed time to another portion of the Morning by Morning platform.  Also coming in the very near future I’m hoping to announce a companion program to the Morning by Morning family. So please keep you ears and eyes open for future announcements. I pray that you will continue to cover this ministry and myself as God lunches us forward in purpose. As always it is a pleasure to minister to each of you as the Father God leads and directs me.
God Bless You and Continue to shine His Grace and Favor upon you and your Loved ones..
Much Love, Mardina
