“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you." Romans 12:2-9 (The Message Bible)
How does this passage speak to you, what would this scripture look like in your life? So often we settle into our everyday lives and give not thought to whether or not we are walking according to what God wants for us. Day after day we get up go to work come home and start all over again the next day. What have we done to leave a mark on the world around us? Who's life have we had an impact upon, by giving words of encouragement, performing a simple random act of kindness (RAK)? What answer to prayer have we fulfilled by simply hearing the voice of the Lord and obeying what He instructs us to do? What does our lives stand for; rather, what are we doing with this life we have been given? These questions should be echoing through the halls our members on a daily basis; however, for most of us they do not. Why? Have we become so consumed with our own lives, that we have no concern for the person next door, across the street or sitting next to us at work?
The Lord longs for us to surrender our lives to Him, to be used by Him for His Kingdom; however this is not always easy, when we consider what's going on in our lives. When we consider our addiction, the natural proclivities of our own flesh or the circumstances that surround us on a daily bases at home, at work and in our personal relationships. How do we get back to the way of the Lord? How do we turn off the resounding noise of this world, which bombards us every day? It is only when we place our focus and undivided attention on God and adhere to His will can we silence the noise and chaos of this sinful world. Let us seek the Lord while he may be found and call upon his name while he is near to us. Let’s not wait until He perhaps abandons us before we realize we need Him more than life itself1
My Pray: Father help us to surrender our wills to yours, today and every day. Give us the wisdom to understand you commandments and the desire to follow them with all our hearts. Thank you for giving us the heart to love you and embrace what you are doing in and through us to perform you will in this earth. Let you blessing rest upon us as we live for you. Amen!
Have a blessed day, go in the peace of God!
