#39 “Step 8: Securing God’s Promises”

“For no matter how many promises God has Made, they are
“Yes” and “Amen” in Christ. And so through Him the Amen
is spoken by us to the Glory of God.”
 2 Corinthians 1:20
New King James Version (NKJMV)

Now we come to the 8 step which is linked to step 6, “ask and it shall be given” So now you should be in expectation of whatever it is you have asked the Lord for.  Just when as Jesus always asked the person he was ministering to “What do you want me to do for you?”(Matt. 20:32). This way he knew exactly what their need was and there was not guess work involved. God always answers specific requests which are based on His Promises.

Blind Bartimaeus was a blind beggar who sat by the roadside daily begging for money. However once he heard about Jesus and heard that He was coming down the very road he was sitting on he begin call in a loud voice “Jesus, son of David, Have mercy on me!” Jesus heard his Bartimaeus calling Him over the roar of the crowd which was surrounding Him. Why because it was a cry of desperation.  Jesus asked him, what he wanted Him to do for him and Bartimaeus said, “Rabbi, I want to see,” “Go, said Jesus, your faith has healed you.” Bartimaeus was totally healed that day because he asked specifically for what he wanted. Now he was a beggar and no doubt had multiple needs however his greatest need was to receive his sight.  Bartimaeus focused in on one of His most vital needs and Jesus heard his petition for help.

Does this mean that Jesus only heals those who ask for healing? Let’s look at another case in the word of God where the person did not ask Jesus to heal them but received healing just the same. One Sunday Jesus went into the temple and saw a woman who was bent over at the waist and had been in this condition for many years.  When Jesus saw her He called her to come to Him and He laid His hands on her and “immediately she straightened up and praised God.”(Luke 13:13) she was healed.  Why did Jesus heal this woman? Jesus said, “Should not this woman a daughter of Abraham be healed” it was because she had a legal right to be healed because of Abraham. “The Lord will take away from you all sickness.” (Duet. 7:15)  Her healing was part of a promise made to Abraham and Jesus was bound to healing her by the promise His Father had made.

Many times we ask the Father to heal us because we are in pain, and think this will cause Him to act on our behalf. Even though He has compassion upon us for healing us as He demonstrated in (Matthew14:14.)  But the primary reason He heals us is because His words said that, “Healing is the children’s bread” and because “Jesus bore our sickness on the tree and by His strips you are healed.” This God will honor first and foremost.

My Prayer: Father God, thank you for your exceeding and precious promises which you have given unto us. Thank you that you will hasten to perform you word and not allow one word of it fail. We give you praise and honor because you are an awesome God. As we continue to study your word open our eyes and heart to understand that your word is true and whey you say your will do something you will honor your word. Give us the tools we need to be efficient and precise when it comes to praying your word and will into this earth and in the lives of your people. We ask these things in Jesus Name Amen!

Have A Bless Day…Go in God’s Peace!
