#47 “Identifying Barrier: To Answered Prayer!”

Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them,
that your progress may be evident to all”
1Timothy 4:15
New International Version (NIV)

I know that we’ve covered the topic of Meditation; however there are just a few more things that need to be covered. I can’t stress how important it is to spend time meditating on the word of God. This is why the Lord God instructed Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 When we meditate on the word of God it will make our way prosperous and we will have good success.  In the book of Psalms we’re told, “Blessed is the man who…But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:2  This man will be planted by rivers of water and his leaves will not wither.

David said, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14 When we meditate on the word of God we are watchful of the words which come from our mouth; because we know what the word of God says and do not want to break His Laws. “I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.” Psalm 119:15   We long to meditate in the council and His precepts.  Meditation is like a twofold process in which we

1.)     Absorb the Word of God making it a part of our lives. You receive the word as you read or even listen to the word it is sown into your heart. Matthew 13:19 when we mediate on the word we gain strength and nourishment from it.  This is how it becomes a permanent part of our being, by digesting it, much like we do our natural food which we eat through meditating on it.

Keep in mind that, “whenever, someone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes               and snatches away what was sown in his heart” (Matthew 13:19) perhaps this is why Gods says, “I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled” Jeremiah 1:12 if Satan can steal God’s word from your heart he can steal the hope and expectation of the promises He has given you as well.  Often we think that Satan will come in the form of unsaved people or some ungodly thing; however, many times it’s that brother or sister that approaches you after church services and starts bad mouthing the pastor’s sermon or the church service. Their negative attitude will affect your whole demeanor and cause you to lose focus on the message and its meaning.

So why don’t you start a new habit of spending time in the presence of the Lord right at the end of the service, at the altar this will give time for those naysayers to leave the building and you will miss them all together. This way the enemy will not have a chance to plant seeds of negativity into your heart.

My Prayer: Father thank You for watching over your word to perform it in our lives. We make a commitment to meditate on your word and hide it deep within our hearts so the enemy cannot steal it from us. Protect us from the evil one and his cohorts, who come only to steal our joy, try to kill the life of God within us and destroy our relationship with you and the body of Christ. Thank you for keeping our hearts pure and free for sin. We ask these things in Jesus name Amen!

Have A Bless Day…Go in God’s Peace!
