#87 “Intercession for Transgressors”
“He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because
He bare the sin of many and made
intercession for the transgressors."
(Isaiah 53: 12)
The Message (MSG)
“Ye that are the Lord's remembrances take no rest and give
Him no rest, till He make Jerusalem a praise in
the earth." (Isaiah 62: 6-7) This is the task which the Lord has set before
us His children that we would not cease for lifting up petitions to heaven
until He has done what He has promised. It doesn’t matter which promise it is
that you’re standing in prayer for as long as it is on God Himself has made. Then
you can put Him in remembrance of what He has promised. As intercessors we
stand in the stead of the transgressors that God might remember His promise
towards the lost. “Say to them, 'As
surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death
of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn
from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11) When
we intercede we must keep in mind that God desires that every soul be delivered
and every transgressor turns form his wickedness and be saved.
Oh the immeasurable
grace to have the privilege to stand in agreement with the Father interceding
for the need of others! What a blessing, in close unification with Christ, taking
an active role in His work as mankind’s Great Intercessor joining our prayers
with His! “You also, like living stones, are being
built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual
sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5) We have been given the honor and privilege of have
authority with God over lost souls obtaining for them things they know nothing
about their very essence of life their mortal souls. “Remember that Christ the just suffered for us the unjust, to bring
us to God. That meant the death of his body, but he came to life again in the
spirit. It was in the spirit that he went and preached to the imprisoned souls
of those who had been disobedient in the days of Noah.” (1 Peter 3:19)
As we join our forces with heaven we battle the
powers of darkness interceding for God’s will to be manifest here on earth; in
the lives of men. "He made intercession for
the transgressors." (Isaiah 53: 12) What we are asked to do only in prayer He
was asked to do in the flesh, agonizing for hours daily over the souls of
mankind. Yet we ourselves have not suffered unto death nor will we have to for Christ
paid that price once and for all. However we are ask to lay down our will, our
plans and follow Him, doing what He asks of us, even then we find difficult
what Christ has made easy. When will we see lost souls as He sees them and long
deeply to see them free, truly free?
I’m
reminded of a testimony I once heard while watching TBN of a man who went to
hell and saw the lost soul suffering in agony being tormented by the flames. I
can phantom seeing such a sight; but no doubt it would cause me to take up a
wailing with deep passion, in an effort to save some from the flames. “Strive
to] save others, snatching [them] out of [the] fire; on others take pity [but]
with fear, loathing even the garment spotted by the flesh and polluted by their sensuality.” (Jude 1:23) We must be motivated by
the very thing which move Christ…love for the Father and the desire to see His righteousness
manifested in the earth- so they could be partaker of His divine Holiness.
How does this relate to us as children of God and His
intercessors in this earth realm; as we humble ourselves in prayer and fasting
for transgressors? It shows God that we too are willing to set aside our wills
for His for the glory of His kingdom and holiness and for the love He has for
the souls of men. “Let you kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth even as it
is in Heaven.” (Mathews 6:10) This is why I take such delight in traveling to
distant lands to preach the gospel why I am willing to suffer extreme heat, creator
comforts and sometimes even physical discomfort just for the sake of reaching
lost souls, even
to the point of pouring out my soul unto death as it were in intercession for
transgressors. What honor! What blessedness! To do the work of the ministry;
because He ever lives continually pours out His loving-kindness into our hearts
by His Holy.
My Prayer:
heavenly Father, You our everlasting loving God. Thank You for opening our eyes
to Your vision of Your glorious Son, Jesus Christ…who ever lives making
intercession for us all. Thank You for allowing us to join our faith and
prayers of intercession with His, to bring about real lasting change in this
earth. Father God, thank You for your glorious grace, which enables us to walk in
Christ’s likeness. Thank You for allowing us to pray for transgressors
everywhere. Father, continue to pour Your grace and mercy into this earth and hearts
of your children. Continue to teach us how to pour out unceasing prayer and
intercession just as Christ does there in heaven. Let us experience Your immense
love for mankind so we never forget to offer up intercession on their behalf to
You; In the ever precious saving name of Jesus', Amen.
Have A Bless Day…Go in
God’s Peace!
